Print Page in DOC format Perhaps the most powerful prayer in all the universe is the Ana Be’Koach. The Kabbalists reveal that this sequence of Hebrew letters encompasses the actual power of creation. The Ana B'Koach is built from 42 letters and is also known as the 42 Letter Name of God. Whenever we make a connection the 42 Letter Name, we are tapping into the primordial force of creation.
The seven sentences of the Ana B'Koach relate to the seven days of the week. Each day we meditate upon the appropriate sentence to take control over that 24-hour period. Saturday Night & Sunday connects to the first sentence. Shabbat (Friday Night & Saturday) pertains to the last sentence. Each month of the year has a heavenly body and each heavenly body has a corresponding verse in the Ana B'Koach; therefore, we also meditate upon the respective planet and Hebrew letter that created both the planet and the zodiac sign of that particular month. For example, the Hebrew letter Ayin created the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is governed by Saturn. The Hebrew letter that gave birth to Saturn is Bet; therefore, on a Sunday in the month of Tevet, we meditate upon the first line of Ana B'Koach, as well as the letters Ayin and Bet. Abraham the Patriarch revealed these astrological secrets of the Hebrew letters and the signs of the zodiac in his Kabbalistic treatise, Sefer Yetzirah (The Book of Formation). The words of the Ana B'Koach are not as important as the first letters of each word. That is where the real power lies. If you add up the first letters of each word, you get 42. Hence, Ana B'Koach is called the 42 Letter Name of God. The actual words have no particular importance. These 42 letters are actually encoded in the first 42 letters of the book of Genesis in the Bible. Second-century Kabbalist Rabbi NachumYa ben Hakana was the first sage to reveal this combination of 42 letters.
Just as certain forces of energy were responsible for bringing about the creation of our universe, these magnificent forces, if harnessed correctly, could also transform a person’s life simply by arousing the healing energy, the force of creation and the power of prosperity. These and other spiritual forces are all bottled up inside the 42-letter Name of God. In this meditation, you will access the highest realms of spiritual energy.
Line 1. We live in a world of time and space. Consequently, there is a separation between our desires and the fulfillment that we seek. Obstacles now fill that space. Chaos is able to penetrate that space.
The concept of time delays the rewards of our effort. Time creates and opening for problems to appear. In a physical world, there is constant friction and barriers every step of the way.
The following letters dissolve all blockages. We rise above the limitations of time and space. We transcend all physical barriers. We shorten the distance between the goals we set, and our successful attainment of these goals. We dematerialize physical and spiritual obstacles.
Line 2. Man possess two aspects to his nature – his soul and his ego. The ego is known by the code word “Satan.”
When we behave with ego, we disconnect ourselves from the source of all spiritual energy. When we subdue our ego, we connect to a realm of divine energy. This infusion of energy removes chaos and suffering fro our life.
The next set of Hebrew letters actually spells out the phrase “tear away Satan.” This potent sequence eradicates our ego. It tears away fear, doubt, anger, and envy from our consciousness.
We seal up any openings in our consciousness that might allow negative forces to incite our ego. Our reactive nature is shut down.
Line 3. The first three letters arouse the forces of sustenance and financial prosperity. This draws abundance into our lives. It helps remove poverty from the landscape of human civilization.
The second set of three letters returns the cells in our body to an embryonic state. They revert back to stem cells. They are purified and revitalized, stimulating healing and igniting the forces of immortality.
This sequence also retrieves the sparks of spiritual Light that dwell within the dark side of our nature. Thus, our ego is weakened, and our soul is empowered once more. Hatred is purged from our hearts.
Finally the waters of the earth are purified and transformed into healing waters, which forever nourish our souls and the cells of our body.
Line 4. When obstacles confront us, or when doubt consumes us, we are often tempted to give up, to throw in the towel, to say “I cannot go on.” The act of persisting onward when all looks bleak is where true greatness is found.
This sequence imbues us with the emotional strength to stand after we stumble, to endure when the path is unendurable. We are endowed with:
The power to finish everything we begin.
Line 5. Personal chaos strikes us because we fail to perceive hidden truths. We do not see the bigger picture. The scope of our thinking is limited by our rational, logical minds. The kabbalists revealed the following sequence to ignite our sixth sense.
We heighten our intuition, we expand our awareness, and we develop deeper insight and evolve clairvoyance. We perceive the end in the beginning.
Line 6. The forces released through this sequence accelerate the revelation of kabbalah’s most hidden secrets.
It speeds up the dissemination of kabbalah’s spiritual wisdom to our fellow human beings. We increase an awareness of kabbalah and the Light of the Creator in the world.
As this wisdom expands throughout the globe, darkness and evil are diminished in equal measure.
Line 7. The power of renewal and fresh beginnings arise in this sequence. Spiritual and emotional baggage is discarded as we begin anew.
Wiser. More enlightened. More connected.
The final line is scanned silently and acts as a “grounding rod” to draw the energy of the meditation into physical existence.
Persistence, to always follow through;
Determination, to go the distance;
Tenacity, to complete the most difficult of tasks.
