Rosh Hashanah, this year, is September 22 - 24, 2006. The Shofar Connection should be made the morning of Sunday, September 24th.
First, it is important to remember that the Light we reveal will increase according to the effort we have put into understanding the Rosh Hashanah Connection and the way we have prepared for the holiday. To begin with, make sure you have visited our Articles Section and read the article(s) pertaining to Rosh Hashanah.
Additionally, you should have made the effort during the month preceding Rosh Hashanah (Elul) to dig up the negative seeds you’ve planted over the past six months by asking forgiveness of people you have hurt and healing situations you have previously brought negativity to.
Friday Afternoon, before the start of the Rosh Hashanah (before sunset):
Take a few moments to think of the kind of year you have had. Have you done everything you can to remove negativity and restrict ego?
Meditate on the 72 Names for Sweetening Judgment and Removing Hatred.
Now think of the year you will have – whether it will be a good year, if all of the problems that we think we have will disappear because of the 48 hours of Rosh Hashanah – not to be reactive but just allow the Light of the Creator to come our way.
Meditate on the 72 Name for Absolute Certainty.
Do the Ana B’Koach Meditation.
Now, we may have the “head knowledge” that the Light would give us the most amazing year, but real certainty comes from “heart knowledge,” therefore we must connect the head and heart. We can accomplish this by reading/scanning a portion of the Zohar. It is through the merit of Rabbi Shiomon bar Yochai that we are able to rise above our human nature and acquire real certainty. Scan the Zohar online. For appropriate sections to scan, see the High Holiday Scanning Chart (Right click and select "Save as..." to save the file to your harddrive.)
Sunday Morning/Early Afternoon (before Sunset):
The 101 sounds of the Shofar are divided into four levels. Each has its own spiritual connections, and each focuses on eliminating a specific aspect of negative energy. This can eliminate judgment and provide protection. The sound of the ram's horn literally CONFUSES Satan - it's 25th century technology. What does that mean? It takes power away from our negativity - our ego (this is the real meaning of Satan). It's an anti-virus.
What do we do during the blows? This is very important - we need to meditate on very specific things. With the right consciousness, using the right meditations to guide us, the Shofar functions like a powerful laser removing the negativity of our actions eliminating our biggest fears, negativity, major health problems - things we are not aware of - replacing it with Light.
There are 4 types of notes blown:
The broken Shofar blows are like crying sounds - they take care of crying that can be created in our lives due to misery. The longer notes surround the broken notes to encapsulate the negativity and eliminate it.
We stand during the Shofar blowing because sitting connects you to manifestation, and you don't want that grounding.
Watch out - during the actual Shofar blowing, when you are trying to have the best thoughts – to think of all you want to cleanse – you might have the most negative thoughts ever! You might even have the worst feelings for other people! Don’t worry its okay. It’s even good. Because all that negativity is floating up so that you can knock it out!
Recite/Scan the blessing of the Shofar:
Tekiyah – is a big note
Sh’varim – 3 notes
Teruah – 9 or more broken notes
Tekiyah Gedolah – long blowing

Baruch ata Adonai Eloheinu Melehk ha-olam,
asher kidishanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu lishoma kol shofar.
Kabbalah teaches us that the Shofar is merely a ram’s horn up until the moment we give voice to this blessing. The vocalization of the blessing reconstructs the ram’s horn and activates its spiritual powers, once again demonstrating the power of speech and the Hebrew letters.
Download Shofar Track 1 and Track 2. Download by "right-clicking" and selecting "Save to Harddrive" or "Save as..." You can then burn the .MP3 files to a CD. (Note: This track is an mp3 that can burned to CD. The track is of ten (10) shofar soundings. It sounds like a lot more than 10, but it is really only 10 soundings that are combinations of the TYPES of soundings mentioned above.)
Meditation for First 30 Soundings:
The First 30 Soundings are connected with Abraham, who represents the divine energy of mercy and kindness. These soundings erase negativity associated with idol worship. This does not refer to idolatry in the narrow sense of bowing down to graven images.
Kabbalistically, we worship idols whenever we give power in our lives to something or someone other than the Light of the Creator - anything that controls you. It could be fear, anger, money, sex, ego, judgment, or drugs! Anything that makes you forget about the Light and your purpose in this life. Things you have to change but you can't because you're reactive. Meditate to eliminate this part of your movie to get clarity.
Play Shofar Track 1 three (3) times while meditating on these first thirty soundings.
Meditation for Second 30 Soundings:
The Second 30 Soundings are a connection to Isaac, and to the energy of receiving. Kabbalah teaches that these sounds cleanse the negative effects of adultery and incest, which like idol worship is defined in the broader sense. Here we are refering to any negativity engendered through improper sexual acts. This is also about relationships. Any form of relationship you want to fix or cleanse to make them better. Or, it can be about relationships you want to create - your soul mate...
The concept of adultery is not limited to extramarital affairs. Once can also covet another person’s business, children, or possessions. Envy and adultery occur when we fail to appreciate all that we have. A lack of appreciation occurs when we receive our lot in life through our reactive system as opposed to a proactive one. We should meditate on cleansing ourselves from the negative residue caused by any act of adultery and ask for the awareness to fully appreciate what we have in life.
Play Shofar Track 1 three (3) times while meditating on these second thirty soundings.
Meditation for Third 30 Soundings:
The Third 30 Soundings are a connection with Yaacov, and to the define balance between mercy and judgment. These blows of the Shofar annul the effects of bloodshed -- which includes not just physical violence, but any intention to cause harm and pain. In this sense, Kabbalah even defines causing embarrassment to another person as bloodshed, in the sense that shame can cause blood to rush to someone's face. This also includes your physical health so you do not have bloodshed in your own life. This connection gives us the strength and wisdom to use our power of speech in a balanced and spiritual manner so that the words we voice are deeds of sharing instead of weapons of destruction. This should be our intent and meditation during this set of Shofar blasts.
Play Shofar Track 1 three (3) times while meditating on these second third soundings.
Meditation for Final 11 Soundings:
The Final 11 Soundings are connected to King David, and to the spiritual energy of Malchut, which is the foundation of the physical world. These last soundings deal with the negativity of evil speech and the damage that is done by any form of gossip or slander. The cause of evil speech and gossip is Hatred for No Reason. We are taught that both Holy Temples were destroyed due to Hatred for No Reason. We can only recreate a Vessel (Temple) by Love for No Reason. Just before these final Shofar blasts, we should meditate to love just one other person, for absolutelyl no reason whatsoever.
This connection also takes care of airborne diseases. Things you don't have control over, things that just travel around. Things that manifest because of speaking about others.
Play Shofar Track 1 one (1) time while meditating on these ten soundings.
Special Meditation for the One Hundred and One Blast:
This is the final Shofar blast. Many believe there are 100 blasts during Rosh Hashanah. However, according to the Kabbalist Rabbi Yosef Chaim, there are really 101 blasts. We are to hear one added Shofar blast to empower all the physicists, scientists, medical researchers, inventors, and other innovators, to draw down endless knowledge from the infinite realm of the Endless world and make it manifest in our world.
Play Shofar Track 2 one (1) time while meditating on this final sounding.
